JUNE 16-17, 2020
call for session proposals

We invite you to submit your educational session proposals by Monday, December 9, 2019.

As we prepare to meet in Denver, we are interested in any and all ideas for sessions, however the feedback from our HECA member survey indicated a particular need for the following content:

    • Managing an independent consulting practice
    • Growing Your Practice: outsourcing and sub-contracting, partnerships, virtual consulting
    • International universities and admission processes
    • Collaborating with high school counselors
    • Professional programs (e.g. nursing, engineering, dentistry, medicine)
    • Changes in early admission plans
    • Navigating financial aid
    • Advising LGBTQIA students
    • Advising students on college essay writing
    • Strategies for working with challenging clients
    • Applying to military academies
    • Preparing students for the transition to college
    • Placing students in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
    • Title IX
    • Advising students with learning disabilities
    • Advising student athletes
    • Advising visual artists
    • Advising performing artists
    • Teen Mental Health
    • Equity & Access
    • College Affordability

HECA will give priority to sessions using presenters from more than one institution or program, as diverse points of view are preferred. This includes sessions that feature presenters from multiple schools or feature a consultant along with an admission representative or service.
