Important Registration Information

HECA Member Discount: To receive your member discount, register using the same email you use to sign into your HECA member account. When prompted during registration, log into your account. The registration system will not recognize you as a member otherwise.

Remember: A passport is required to enter Canada!

Payment is by credit card only. Be sure your credit card information matches the name and address you enter when you register. If you encounter problems, send an email to Conference@HECAonline.org

You must register for housing separately with the University of British Columbia. Housing information and registration

If you plan to attend the Pre-Conference College Tours or the Pre-Conference Best Business Practices seminar, register for those events on the Pre-Conference Registration page.

Refund policy: Before April 15th, full refund minus $20 cancellation fee; Between April 15 and May 1st, 50% refund; After May 15th, no refund.

    2013 Pre-Conference College Tour
    Wednesday, June 19 - Friday, June 21

    Visit schools in the Memphis and Nashville areas! The tour will start in Memphis. Participants must plan to arrive in Memphis on Tuesday June 18. The tour will begin at the SpringHill Suites on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:00 a.m. sharp. The tour will conclude at the Opryland resort in Nashville, TN at approximately 11:00 p.m on Friday, June 21. Participation in the Pre-Conference College Tour will make it impossible for you to also attend the Pre-Conference Seminars. Please do not double book yourself.

    THIS TOUR IS LIMITED to the first 50 registrants.
    Most meals will be provided.

    Housing is not included in the Pre-Conference Tour registration fee and must be booked directly with SpringHill Suites, 85 West Court Avenue in downtown Memphis.The special HECA rate is $129 plus taxes for a single or double.Tour participants must make their own reservations, planning to check into SpringHill Suites Downtown Memphis on Tuesday, June 18 and check out Thursday, June 20. Conference accommodations must also be reserved individually by participants at Opryland Resort beginning Thursday, June 20.

     PLEASE READ! Tour Cancellation policy:  90% refund will be made for cancellations made prior to April 1, 2013 IF THERE IS SOMEONE ON THE WAITING LIST ABLE TO TAKE YOUR PLACE. No refunds will be made after April 1, 2013 or if there is no one to take your place on the tour.

    S2 The Passion Test: The Effortless Path to Finding Your Purpose              
    Presented by: Margaret Dillon Katz
    Come join an interactive session where you can take the Passion Test developed by NY Times best-selling authors Chris and Janet Attwood to get clarity on your top 5 passions. Learn how you can use this tool to help your students (and their parent(s) find their top passions, gain clarity, and begin discovering their purpose.  You will be invited to take the Passion Test yourself and discover and prioritize your top 5 passions and how you can live them each day.  Additionally, you will learn how you can integrate this process into your practice in one on one sessions or group sessions, which will increase your effectiveness, energy and enthusiasm for your work with helping students identify possible majors, career, and a good and appropriate list of colleges for the student. Offered at 9 a.m.

    HECA offers its members year-round resources and collegial support.  Take a guided tour of the HECA website and discover its rich offerings from contract forms to college reports.  Find out who your regional community representative is and whether any support groups meet in your area.  Learn about volunteer opportunities that will connect you to the HECA family.  Time will be provided for questions and answers. This session will fulfill the first year orientation requirement for new members who have not yet participated online. Offered at 9 a.m.

    S4  Admission Case Studies                               Presented by: Ed Devine et al This session will offer participants the opportunity to serve as admission committee members for Red Brick University. Participants will evaluate four mock applications. They will consider qualitative and quantitative application elements, discuss the issue of fit, and ultimately, arrive at final admission decisions.  Admission experts with varying perspectives and backgrounds will lead the committee’s discussion. Offered at 2 p.m.

    2013 HECA Conference Two-Day Exhibitors

Please schedule your Nashville departure after 1:30 p.m on Friday, June 28.
