HECA Post-Conference Tour
June 19 - 20, 2014
The Whitman College Office of Admission would like to invite you to a special visit to Whitman from Thursday, June 19, to Friday, June 20. The program will include a our of campus, a chance to hear about student research going on at the College this summer, and time to explore Walla Walla's historic Main Street. Members of the admission staff will be available to talk with you throughout your time on campus.
We hope you will take this opportunity to become better acquainted with Whitman College, a national liberal arts college located in the welcoming Northwest that offers a transformative experience for 1,500 high-achieving, engaged, passionate “Whitties” from throughout the nation and world. Whitman is known for its unique blend of academic rigor in the liberal arts and sciences and its friendly, active, and unpretentious environment.
Participation is limited to 25 people and will only take place if at least 18 people are registered. The registration fee for the tour is $110 (nonrefundable if the tour reaches the minimum number of attendees), which includes transportation by bus between Portland and Walla Walla, two lunches, and breakfast; dinner is on your own in Walla Walla. The bus trip takes 4 hours each way. You will leave early Thursday morning to arrive at Whitman in time for lunch on Thursday; on Friday, you will leave Whitman after lunch and should expect to return to Portland International Airport on Friday in the late afternoon / early evening. Participants will stay in single dorm rooms on campus (cost is about $45). You will arrange your housing directly with Whitman; contact details will be provided after registration.
This tour departs early Thursday morning, June 19, and will return participants to Portland International Airport on Friday, June 20, probably by about 5:30 p.m., traffic permitting.
Tour Cancellation Policy: There will be no refunds. Also, registrations are not transferable. Tour organizers must be notified of any cancellations.
Full participation: If you register for this tour, you are making a commitment to participate in the entire tour. This means you will visit all the colleges on the tour itinerary.
Conference Cancellation Policy:
Before March 15 - 100% refund minus $20 cancellation fee; March 16 - April 31 - 50% refund; After May 1 - no refund.
